PROLAPSE OF UTERUS
Coming out
the some part or complete uterus is known as uterine prolapse.
Etiology-
- In case of dystocia uterine prolapse may occur
- Excessive uterine contractions may cause uterine prolapse.
- In case of calcium deficiency.
Symptoms-
- Some part of uterus (with or without cotyledons) can be seen out of the vulva.
Diagnose-
By signs and symptoms.
Treatment-
- Dirt should be removed from the prolapsed part of uterus.
- Prolapsed part should be washed firmly with 0.1% KMnO4 or with other antibacterial solutions.
- Hold the uterus upside the uterus to remove the urine from the bladder. (it will reduce the size of uterus)
- Sugar can be applied to lessen the size of prolapsed part.
- Anesthetic injection should be given to reduce the uterine contractions
- Broad spectrum antibiotics along with analgesics, antihistaminic and B-complex injection should be given to animal at least for 3-4 days
- Oxytocin injection can be given to reduce the size of uterus.
- Rope truss should be used against vulva to avoid the frequent prolapse.
